A small guide to fix the error in the game where an Xbox layout is still displayed instead of the PS4 layout.

How to Fix PS4 Controller Layout Issue

Hey, many people have the problem that the Xbox controller is still displayed in the game despite the PS4 controller being connected. This problem is very easy to fix and works without any problems in just a few small steps.

I would like to say that the following method always worked without exception. Everything else was just so-so for me.

Note: Untested via Bluetooth.

  • Plug the charging cable into the computer or laptop.
  • Then start Steam.
  • Now plug the controller into the cable. Then press the HOME button.
  • Now Steam Big Picture Mode should open. Now navigate to Pummelparty and start the game.
  • A message should appear, just click away and the game will load.

    • For some reason it was important for me to do exactly this order so that I didn’t have any problems in the game. Maybe you can connect the controller directly without having to follow this exact sequence. But Big Picture Mode is always needed.
