Josh or Joshua Jacobs was born on February 11, 1998, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States. His father Marty Jacobs worked as an ordinary job of shipping and receiving in their local warehouse, and his mother Lachelle was a housewife. In 2006 his parents got divorced, he want to be with his father but due to some circumstances his father told him and his other four siblings to live with his mother. Which he did not like at all, as his mother misused the child support money. That leads to both parents fighting for the custody of the children.

In his freshman year 2016, he showed his talents by playing a marvelous game by split time with Bo Scarborough and Damien Harris, rushing a score of 85 times for 567 yards and four touchdowns. And, in sophomore year in 2017, he got 284 yards on 46 carries with one touchdown.
As the season ended it was revealed that Jacobs was suffering from a broken ankle and still choose to play for most of the season. In his junior year, he was named the MVP of the 2018 SEC Championship Game after rushing for 83 yards with two touchdowns.
Jacobs made his first debut in NFL Week 1 against the opponent Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football. Jacobs rushed 23 times for 85 yards and was able to get two touchdowns and one pass for 28 yards in the 24-16 victory. In his next game, he went against the Kansas City Chiefs, where he rushed 12 times for 99 yards, and unfortunately, the Raiders lost by a score of 28-10.
Three weeks later after his first debut, they went after the Chicago Bears at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where he managed to rush 26 times for 123 yards and two touchdowns and caught 3 passes for 20 yards in the 24-21 win. And, during Week 7 they played with the Green Bay Packers, where they eventually lost the game with his rushed 21 times for 124 yards in the 42-24. Two weeks later they retrieved from the loss against the Detroit Lions, where Jacob perfectly managed to rushed 28 times for 120 yards and two touchdowns in the 31–24 with a victory trophy.
After a continuous eighth game of the season, Jacobs got the Raiders rookie record for rushing yards in a season with 740, surpassing former American football player Marcus Allen’s old record of 697. In his next game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday Night Football, he rushed for 71 yards and with the winning game touchdown and caught five passes for 30 yards.
In Week 11 the team went against the Cincinnati Bengals, where he rushed 23 times for 112 yards in the 17–10 win. In Week 13 against the Kansas City Chiefs, with rushed 17 times for 104 yards in the 40–9 loss. During the game of loss, Jacobs became the first rookie running back in Raiders’ history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season.
During 2019 Jacob missed three games among the last four games due to his shoulder injury and skin infection. But during his final season, he was able to finish with 1,150 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns.
