Idaho man admits to hammer attack on family

BAYVIEW, Idaho (AP) - A Bayview man has pleaded guilty for a hammer attack on four members of a family in December 2010.

32-year-old Larry Cragun pleaded guilty to murder, attempted murder and aggravated battery.

Cragun killed Patricia Heath in the attack and severely wounded her mother-in-law, Lorraine Wallis. Wallis's son, Michael Heath, and grandson Jedidiah Heath, suffered more minor injuries.

First District Judge Benjamin Simpson took Cragun's guilty pleas Thursday and set sentencing for May 14.

Cragun faces up to life in prison.
